Congratulations to all eurofans on the Eurovision week!
I’m super-happy that ESC is coming back to my life. Honestly, this year`s songs are good, so I can really call this year a good year. I can sing along the most part of the song, which is AWESOME!
My favourite part of Eurovision is all these inside jokes and discussions and contestants` interactions. I’ve even surfed Tumblr for more eurofellows, turned out there’s a whole lot of fans in Europe and abroad.
The day before yesterday I spend the whole evening watching The Torqoise Carpet assessing contestants` outfits. Well, the Carpet was much more amusing than MET Gala. I shared my crazy comments on some outfits on my Telegram Channel (the fact that there`re no subscribers there makes me upset and a little bit crazy as what does it look like when I post memes and messages for myself!?).
In this article I’d like to share my opinion on the ESC contestants who will perform in the first semi-final which will take place on 10th of May (today!). Comparing it with the second semi-final, I must say that it’s weaker but it’s only my point of view.
I love the song and the singer Ronela, it’s finally something different from this country. Despite all those disagreements on the costume, I like the performance and appreciate Ronela for being who she is and being confident. I’m not sure if she’ll qualified for the final as europeans may just miss her at the end.
Upd: I’ve seen the photos from the full rehearsal and a video for the jury… it’s the family show, Albania…
INSTEAD OF MEAT I EAT VEGGIES AND… That was unexpected but it’s Eurovision, yeah! The song about leading a healthy lifestyle might win televoters’ approval but personally I don’t think it’s the final ALTHOUGH the vibe is sooo cool, reminds me of The Sunstroke Project from Moldova.
Lots of people love Lithuanian song but I don’t relate to them as.. I just didn’t fall for her? But she charismatic!
The song is simple and slow and initially I didn’t like it but when I listened to it to the very end, I loved it. The line ‘Boys do cry’ brought me to tears somehow. Other people say that Marius will stay in the semi-final and I really don’t want their expectations come true.
Cute school boys stole my heart! I can’t call their song awesome or even winning but I really want them to qualify for the final.
Well done, boys! I won’t download your song for long-lasting listening but performance is bound to be bright! Moreover, those folklore motives in the melody add up to the authenticity, which is the key to stand out in the contest. They will surely qualify for the final due to televotes.
But why did they bring the Germany flag to the stage?..
Why do the contestants look like they represent Bulgaria? (Sorry, there’re still stereotypes in my head). Well, I had to relisten to the song as didn’t remember it.
Sooo, the melody isn’t haunting. however, I liked it! Well, let me change my mind, the melody is haunting!!!
uuuuu-aaahhhh and that’s it! I haven’t seen rehearsals and can judge only from the studio version, which is great. I should listen to the live performance. They say, it’s not so fascinating like ‘Matter of Time’ from Belgium some years ago.
These guys are among the few who got the Eurovision spirit! HEY HO LETS GO FOLKLORE ROCKNROLL
KISHINAU BUCKAREST
I adore the contestants for their performance and the vibe they give to the show, I want them to qualify for the final.
The only thing that I remember about the song is that it’s in Portugal’s style (like Portugal sends similar songs every year, apart from Conan Osiris, of course)
A simple calm song, I have nothing more to say.
Like someone in the comments said, Denmark is Maneskin on steroids (did I use the idiom right??). Initially I was’t caught by the performance but now.. GO AHEAD GIRLS!
When I watched their music video, I wasn’t pleased with the revealing myself theme, which is really threadbare. Then I put myself to shame and after some time I wanted to listen to the song over and over again. It’s something light, young and summer-like, that’s why it appealed to me. However, the fact that LUMIX is taking part in the performance as well.. I don’t think it’ll be final as what will it look like? He’s DJ but in fact he won’t be doing anything apart from cheering up and jumping. And according to the rehearsal cuttings, Mia isn’t so good at singing.. back-vocalists help her a lot.. hmm but I looove them anyways. The song is bound to be on the radio soon, though.
Go, sisters! This year, Iceland brings us the Scandinavian vibe, also nice!
But if we diiiiie together now.
This year`s contestant is the pure aesthetics and the music video gained my heart! It reminds me Lithuania of 2018.
AND BEFORE THE WOLF EATS MY GRANDMA GIVE THAT WOLF A BANANA
Hello, Iceland 2014! The only thing I can say is that I LOVE THE SUBWOOLFER. You should also check their Insta as they rock!
A pleasant country song by a nice girl! I want her to qualify for the final!
